Introductory Te Reo Maori
I am in the process of taking an introductory Te Reo Maori paper at the University of Waikato at the Tauranga Campus at Windermere.
The paper is called MAOR 111 09A - it is over the first semester in 2009.
This is the first time I have formally studied in 30 years!
I wanted to learn Te Reo Maori to help me in my work (cataloguing at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Library) - understanding Maori subject headings and Maori language in the New Zealand and Maori items that I catalogue.
I also believe in retaining Te Reo Maori as part of the cultural heritage of New Zealand - if the language is not used it will become extinct.
